Rome

Anthony Bourdain was in Rome on CNN on Sunday, it set my mind to thinking about all the good places to stay there and here are two little gems which are well located and not at all expensive.

Hotel Memphis - Summer Rates from $140

This hotel is in a great location, about 300 meters from the Trevi Fountain and about 400 meters from the spanish steps. The hotel is small as are the rooms and bathrooms, however there is no street noise so very quiet for sleeping. Breakfast which is included is great, and so is the coffee. There is a great local restaurants right next door ( to left and right called Da Olimpio and Gioia Mia ) and a small local bar about 25 mtrs away which is very local and not expensive.

Another great small hotel is just up the street from Hotel Memphis a few yards and has a great roof terrace and very period style rooms and the staff are super friendly.

Residenza Antica Roma - Summer Rates from $199 per night

This hotel is super cute and also is not expensive, they host drinks in the evening and have a great breakfast as well. The staff are very helpful and accommodating.
